Understanding how to use NAPLAN data to generate evidence to identify and frame a specific improvement challenge. The session will provide an outline of the development and implementation of NAPLAN online, the links between Literacy and Numeracy as represented in the NAPLAN tests, as well as student growth as measured through the Literacy/Numeracy continuum’s of the Australian Curriculum.

This session will work focus on Grattan Institute’s report ‘Targeted Teaching: how better use of data can improve student learning.’ It will look closely at how to: act, evaluate and adjust; implement an approach as outlined in a specific plan; collect data on effectiveness and efficiency of the approach to substantiate hypotheses and; use data to fine tune elements of the intervention.
